I had a fantastic stay at this hotel in Hirosaki. the location was absolutely perfect. It was just a short walk away from Hirosaki Park and the famous Hirosaki Castle. Being able to easily explore these attractions was a definite highlight of my visit. Secondly, the staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful and friendly. They provided me with valuable information and tips about the area, ensuring that I made the most of my time in Hirosaki. Lastly, the rooms had lovely views of the garden. Waking up to such serene and picturesque surroundings was a great way to start the day. I was impressed with the value for money and the attention to detail at this hotel.

I liked the ambience and unique feel of the inn. I would not call it a hotel but more an inn with its unique experience.

The accommodations are exquisitely Japanese, well preserved and managed traditional ryokan setting. The innkeeper and staff are true professionals, knowledgeable of the tourist business and beyond. The experience is a true culture immersion for county Japan.

Loved the traditional Japanese style of the hotel, with clean and spacious rooms. The location was great, with easy access to all the main attractions. The staff were extremely helpful, they provided local insights and offered a drive to the station. We enjoyed the relaxing hot springs at the hotel.
The condition of the facilities was slightly worn and needed repair, which didn't affect our stay but was noticeable. Some of the staff members had limited English skills, which made communication difficult at times.

Neat to stay in such a historic, traditional Japanese ryokan. The building seems to ramble, maybe added on to over the generations? Lots of wood, traditional style, tatami mats and futons. Each room had a heater and an ac unit, seating area, tea set, tv, etc. Very comfortable. Pillows are traditional buckwheat pillows, very firm, not what Americans are used to. Owner spoke excellent English and was a great host. Friendly staff, very attentive to our needs. We were given complimentary drinks at the private bar next door, and made to feel very welcome. (Note, bar is very smoky, Marilyn Monroe theme, great experience, but if you don't like cigar smoke, may not be for you!) Owner very helpful with directions/recommendations for dinner/sites, and allowed us to park the rest of the day after checkout, which is very helpful in that area as there is not a lot of parking available. Excellent location within 5 minutes walk of the Castle/park. My friends and I all booked rooms with private bathrooms; the two of us in singles only had sink/toilet. There is a small onsen, which was nice, though simple and not luxurious or spa- atmosphere. Separate facilities for men/women. We had the traditional Japanese breakfast, plenty to eat for 840 yen, but definitely Japanese style, so if you need a western breakfast, it may not be for you. That day it included a small piece of broiled salmon, rice, miso soup, seaweed packet, preserved plum, marinated vegetables, pickled daikon, roe of some sort, chunks of fresh apple, green tea. Will stay again if given the chance.

The fact that it was a part of the history of Japan and Hirosaki. The friendliness of the owner. He made us feel like honored guests. His efforts to make us feel welcome and help us find our way around Hirosaki since we have limited ability to converse in Japanese. Everyone we came in contact with was very friendly and welcoming. Making us feel like we were not outsiders.

The hotel truly exceeded my expectations. the attention to detail was remarkable - from the beautifully presented rooms with lovely views of the garden , to the thoughtful breakfast spread that satisfied all taste buds. Secondly, the location of this hotel was perfect. Situated in the center of Hirosaki, it was just a stone's throw away from the city's most cheerful izakaya as well as popular sightseeing spots. Lastly, the staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure a perfect stay, just like the dedicated owner and his family.
Everything was beyond good.
